The Educational Development Division (ED) performs comprehensive policy, planning, and budget development for the Governor in education, including the lottery.
ED staff have a variety of responsibilities:
Performing research on educational issues in Georgia;
Analyzing budget requests from education agencies needed for the Governor's recommendations to the General Assembly;
Providing information to support the Governor's policy and legislative initiatives;
Assisting education agencies to implement programs and policies;
Reviewing and analyzing state and federal legislation affecting education; and,
Providing information to the public, interest groups, educators, legislators, state agencies, and others regarding educational issues.
