Rehired Retirees

A rehired retiree is someone who receives benefits from either the Employees’ Retirement System (ERS) or the Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) following retirement from state employment, and then later returns to service in an agency.  The agencies may rehire these individuals as long as they are in compliance with state law governing the ERS and TRS plans, rules and regulations, as well as the policy detailed in this section.
