Each year the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget works with the U.S. Census Bureau to develop population estimates and projections for the state of Georgia.  As part of this process, our office collects population data from a wide range of facilities. The facilities we survey include, but are not limited to, adult correctional facilities, juvenile facilities, nursing facilities, other health care facilities, college and university student housing, military group quarters, and other non-institutional facilities.

If you have been notified by the Office of Planning and Budget that you fall into one of these categories, please complete the attached survey. The data will be used by the Census Bureau to estimate city/town and county populations. The estimates published by the Census Bureau help determine the distribution of many federal funds. Accurate estimates are therefore important to Georgia’s cities and counties.
