Welcome

Welcome to the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget (OPB). Our mission is to support the Governor and his office in making budget and fiscal management decisions for the state. OPB also assists state agencies with policy development, strategic planning, and performance evaluation to foster an efficient and responsible government.

OPB is proud to serve Georgia’s citizens and ensure that taxpayer dollars are being used wisely and effectively. State spending is carefully monitored by our office, and we work closely with the Governor to guarantee a balanced budget. We also work to enhance communication and cooperation between the Governor’s Office and executive, legislative, and judicial state agencies. This ensures the whole of state government has a shared understanding of how to best serve the people of Georgia.

OPB is committed to serving our constituents and establishing transparency within state government. Our website is home to numerous resources to inform the public’s understanding of Georgia’s budget. These resources include annual publications such as the Governor’s Budget Report, the Budget in Brief, and the Tax Expenditure Report. OPB also publishes data on agency performance measures and the state’s population to help Georgia plan for its future. Additionally, this site hosts information on various state policies, OPB’s administrative responsibilities, and other functions related to our office.

Thank you again for your interest in the important work of the Office of Planning and Budget. I sincerely hope that the information found on our website is clear, concise, and helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Best regards,

Richard Dunn

Director, Office of Planning and Budget
