Fiscal Policy Analysts
The Office of Planning and Budget's (OPB) primary duties include developing the Governor's annual budget recommendations and providing high-quality financial and policy research and analysis to the Governor’s Office in service of operating an efficient and effective state government. OPB would not be able to fulfill these important responsibilities without the hard work and dedication of its Fiscal Policy Analysts.
Working as an OPB analyst is a unique and engaging way to serve the state of Georgia. Analysts are responsible for a wide variety of duties, including:
- Developing budget recommendations based on research and analysis of agency budget requests
- Monitoring state agency operating budgets for compliance with state laws, policies, and the Governor's public policy goals
- Tracking and reviewing legislation for potential budgetary impacts
- Visiting state agency facilities to gain deeper understanding of state agencies' missions and operations
Analysts are assigned to one of the following divisions:
- Education
- Human and Health Services
- Physical and Economic Development
- Public Safety
- Planning & Strategy
