The Educational Development Division (ED) performs comprehensive policy, planning, and budget development for the Governor in education, including the lottery.
ED staff have a variety of responsibilities:

Performing research on educational issues in Georgia

Analyzing budget requests from education agencies needed for the Governor's recommendations to the General Assembly

Providing information to support the Governor's policy and legislative initiatives

Assisting education agencies with implementation programs and policies

Reviewing and analyzing state and federal legislation affecting education

Providing information to the public, interest groups, educators, legislators, state agencies, and others regarding educational issues
